Top Ten: Lil’ Wayne Songs

You’re Probably Not Going To Read This but I’ve compiled my Top Ten favorite Lil’ Wayne records.

Lil’ Wayne has been apart of Hip Hop for as long as I can remember, whether it was a member of the Hot Boys or as a solo act. The self-proclaimed Best Rapper Alive has been lighting up the charts for years but has cooled off as late amidst problems with his record label and Cash Money CEO Baby.

But today is about the music and here’s my list of Top Ten Lil’ Wayne records. Editors Note: No Mixtape Tracks was included. I’ll save that list for another day.

TEN.

I’m Single – Lil’ Wayne – I’m Not A Human Being (2010)

This song which was originally featured on the ‘No Ceilings’ mixtape. It made this list due to being included on the I’m Not A Human Being album released in 2010.

NINE.

Tha Block Is Hot – Lil’ Wayne ft. Hot Boys – Tha Block Is Hot (1999)

The first solo release from Lil’ Wayne came in 1999 in the form of ‘Tha Block Is Hot’. Cash Money Records was just taking off and Lil’ Wayne had his first hit with this song.

EIGHT.

She Will – Lil’ Wayne ft. Drake – Tha Carter IV (2011)

One of the many standout tracks on Lil’ Wayne’s comeback album after his stint in jail, ‘She Will’ featuring Drake with the assist on the hook is amazing all around. Producer T-Minus came thru with an amazing beat and here you have our number eight track.

SEVEN.

Right Above It – Lil Wayne ft. Drake – I Am Not A Human Being (2010)

On a less than stellar release, Wayne had one of my favorite and one of his best songs ever with ‘Right Above It’ featuring Drake. This time Drake opened the song with a dope verse and Weezy F. closed it with two awesome verses.

SIX.

Got Money – Lil Wayne ft. T-Pain – Tha Carter III(2008)

Wayne usually gives his best over dope production and he didn’t disappoint on this track off arguably his best album, ‘Tha Carter III’. With the T-Pain assist, Wayne gave us stellar verses filled with metaphors and punchlines.

FIVE.

Fireman – Lil Wayne – Tha Carter II(2005)

Some would say ‘Tha Carter II’ is Wayne’s best work and it’s up to the people to decide, but ‘Fireman’ comes in at number five for me. With the amazing production and some of Weezy’s best verses along with a memorable hook and well, HIT.

FOUR.

GO DJ – Lil’ Wayne – Tha Carter(2004)

Now if Wayne didn’t have you screaming ‘Go DJ’ during parties in ’04, you might not have went out much. But this song today still has DJ’s scratching it up over Mannie Fresh productions.

THREE.

Hustler’s Musik – Lil’ Wayne – Tha Carter II(2005)

This song could be number one to me, but I’m gonna feel that way bout any song that Wayne has put out. But ‘Hustler’s Musik’ is definitely one of Wayne’s best of work in a list of so many.

TWO.

Mr. Carter – Lil’ Wayne ft. JAY Z – Tha Carter III(2008)

Wayne finally got his JAY Z verse and didn’t waste it. Hov and Weezy put together a standout record that may have been the best song on the album if not for a certain song we will get to.

ONE.

A Milli – Lil’ Wayne – Tha Carter III(2008)

Ask any person in 2008 to rap the lyrics to Lil’ Wayne’s ‘A Milli’ and I’m sure they could. This song was on every ringtone, every station, it was everywhere. Wayne just basically gave us bar after bar after bar of fire. No Hook necessary.
